Google Calender now requires Firefox?

I try to login into Google Calendar today, which I rarely use and here’s what I see:

So now Google Calendar doesn’t support Internet Explorer? I try it with Opera, same result. A-fucking-mazing. I can click cancel and it will load, but what a slimy message.

It’s cool that Google favors Open Source; really cool, in fact. But if you’re going to restrict what 25% of the planet can search (China), then it’s not a big leap to restrict what software people can use to access your apps. Makes you go “Hmmmm”… isn’t this the very behavior that we’ve bitched to Microsoft about for years and years? By pulling this stunt, Google and the Firefox crowd confirm that Microsoft’s behavior was right all along; it’s now okay if Microsoft restricts viewing sites only with Internet Explorer.

Hell no, it was never right. The whole idea of a computer is freedom — freedom to work, produce, create, view, search, play, compose, discover, tinker, and so on. But when did Google (along with a few other Firefox fanatic websites) decide which browser is best for me? Why does Google presume to make that decision for me? Why would any company? If I wanted to use Firefox, I will (I can’t wait to try out version 2.0 due out later this year). But I’m agnostic with regard to browsers. I just happen to prefer Maxthon’s face on IE’s engine.

In case they don’t get the message, fuck you, Google.
