BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Scientists from the US and Japan reported they have genetically engineered a dozen calves that are immune to Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE, or mad cow disease), according to the Nature Biotechnology Sunday.
